10 HYROX Athletes To Watch Out For

The HYROX community has coined the term ‘some race to compete, whilst others race to complete.’ In this blog, we will introduce you to the top dogs of the HYROX world, including some of the best athletes in the game and their PB times. 

So, if you want inspiration and to fill your feed with some HYROX-related content, these are the men and women you need to follow.

1. Hunter McIntyre

Name: Hunter McIntyre 

Notable Achievements: 3x HYROX World Champion, 4x HYROX Record holder

Best HYROX time: 53 minutes 22 seconds

Bio: 

Hunter McIntyre is the current HYROX world champion and holds the record for the fastest HYROX time ever recorded at 53 minutes 22 seconds, set in Stockholm in 2023. Growing up on the East Coast of America, Hunter often spent time in the woods climbing trees and exploring as a child. After high school, he spent some time in rehab and worked as a logger, cutting down trees before becoming a professional athlete. He is known as “The Sheriff” and has dominated the HYROX scene for several years, bagging three World Championship titles.

2. Lauren Weeks

Name: Megan Jacoby

Notable Achievements: HYROX Elite World Champion 2024

Best HYROX Time: 58 minutes

Bio:

Meg Jacoby is the first woman to complete a HYROX race in under one hour, which she completed at the World Championships in Nice, France, in June 2024. Jacoby started HYROX in 2022 and, in only a few short years, has commanded the attention of everyone in the sport. In her second-ever HYROX event, she broke the then-women’s pro record competing in Chicago. Megan runs seven times a week and spends hours completing endurance sessions in the gym, leading her to quit her job and devote all her time to competing. 

3. Alexander Roncevic

Name: Alexander Roncevic

Notable Achievements: Elite European & World Champion

Best HYROX Time: 50 minutes 38 seconds

Bio: 

Alexander Roncevic could possibly be the fittest primary school teacher on the planet. From Austria, Roncevic spends his days teaching children and his evenings training for the World Championships. He has even appeared in episodes of the Austrian and German ‘Ninja Warrior’.  Alexander was named the World HYROX champion in June 2024, describing on Instagram, “I am World Champion. That’s all I ever wanted to achieve, just once in my life.”

4. Lauren Weeks

Name: Lauren Weeks 

Notable Achievements: HYROX World Champion x 3

Best HYROX Time: 58 minutes 3 seconds

Bio: 

One of the fastest and most successful HYROX athletes in the world, Lauren Weeks, takes everything in her stride. Winning the HYROX World Championships a total of three times, Weeks is a remarkable athlete within the sport. What is even more remarkable is that she competed whilst eight months pregnant at the 2022 HYROX World Championships, finishing in 9th place out of a total of 14 Elite women athletes. With 15 total career races, Weeks has finished in 1st place a total of 10 times – could she be the HYROX GOAT?

5. Ryan Kent

Name: Ryan Kent

Notable Achievements: Chicago 23/24 HYROX Major winner, North American Champion, DEKAFIT record holder

Best HYROX Time: 57 minutes 10 seconds

Bio:

Ryan Kent was the first HYROX Major winner in Chicago and has been competing in competitions around the world ever since. Kent’s journey with HYROX hasn’t been easy, and he has faced obstacles tougher than the eight workout stations on his path to success. His father’s passing inspired him to dominate the sport, and he has achieved notable successes, including setting a new World Record in DEKAFIT, scoring the first time in under 30 minutes.

6. Mikaela Norman

Name: Mikaela Norman

Notable Achievements: Ranked Top 3 Worldwide DEKAFIT 2024, World Championship HYROX qualifier 2023/2024

Best HYROX Time: 1 hour 45 seconds

Bio: 

Mikaela Norman is a Swedish professional athlete with over 11 years of experience in elite fields. She has a background in sports and is a trained physiotherapist and certified personal trainer. Norman also has a BA in Economics and worked as an accountant for five years. At her very first HYROX competition, Norman broke the world record for the Women’s Pro time and aims to become the World Champion. She also competes in CrossFit competitions and DEKAFIT.

7. Rylan Schadegg

Notable Achievements: 3 x World Champion

Best HYROX Time: 57 minutes 47 seconds

Bio: 

Rylan Schadegg is a three-time DEKAFIT World Champion and now has his sights set on dominating the HYROX world. Schadegg has faced some health challenges over the past few years but is still determined and has a fighting spirit when it comes to training and being dedicated to the sport. Recently, he placed third at the HYROX Amsterdam Majors, and if you are searching for some inspiration on your feed, he is definitely one to follow. 

8. Linda Meier

Name: Linda Meier

Notable Achievements: Placing 5th at World Championships

Best HYROX Time: 55 minutes 2 seconds (Doubles with Megan Jacoby)

Bio: 

Linda Meier stumbled upon HYROX when a friend at the gym mentioned it to her in passing. She registered for the event three days before and has continued to enjoy the sport ever since, competing in around 13 events. HYROX is a hobby for Linda, and she continues to work a ‘normal’ job alongside training that has nothing to do with sport. Meier is German and travels all over the world to perform at Elite HYROX events, if you would like to follow her journey, she posts a behind-the-scenes insight on Instagram.

9. Beau Willis

Name: Beau Willis

Notable Achievements: 6th fastest Elite Men’s time 

Best HYROX Time: 56 minutes 3 seconds

Bio: 

This athlete from New Zealand holds the 6th fastest time for a HYROX Elite Men’s competition, with a speedy 56 minutes and 3 seconds best. Performed at the Stockholm 2023 Men’s Elite, Willis continues to deliver staggering results in both single and doubles events. Currently, he owns and runs a gym in New Zealand and is a CrossFit coach. A fun fact about Willis is that he went to the United States on a tennis scholarship and fell into hybrid sports in his last senior year.

10. Mirjam Von Rohr

Name: Mirjam Von Rohr

Notable Achievements: HYROX European Champion, 3rd at World Championships, CrossFit Open Winner 2024

Best HYROX Time: 1 hour 3 minutes 44 seconds

Bio: 

Mirjam Von Rohr is what can only be described as a machine. She is one of the world’s top-ranked Women’s HYROX athletes and has completed various fitness endurance challenges not for the faint of heart. How does a two-hour wall sit sound? 1,000 burpees in 55 minutes? Von Rohr has done it all. She grew up training a range of different sports, including gymnastics and martial arts and completed her first hybrid event in 2021. In 2024, she placed 13th at the 2024 European Championships in Vienna and is set to have a strong future in HYROX.
